In 2007, construction began on the property adjacent to the library at 27 W. Fulton Avenue. The plan consisted of connecting a 20,000 sq. ft. building to the current 9,813 sq. ft. library. Upon its completion in 2012, the modern facility featured many new and improved services including:

• Wireless internet capability throughout the building
• A 275 seat auditorium for library special events, meetings, cultural celebrations, and film screenings Gallery space for public artist exhibitions
• Dedicated computer room with 21 terminals for public access
• A 100 seat multi-purpose space that can be divided into four smaller meeting rooms
• Dedicated teen center
• Additional space for Children’s, Young Adult, and Adult collections
• Additional space for Reference, CD’s, DVD’s, and the Black Heritage Collection
