Rules and Regulations of the Wyandanch Public Library
Our goal is to provide a safe and educational atmosphere for all. We ask that you follow these library rules. We reserve the right to deny access to the library in the event of your violation of these rules.- No eating, drinking or smoking is allowed in the Wyandanch Public Library.
- All trash must be placed in the proper receptacles.
- To ensure proper safety, playing is prohibited.
- There will be no loitering on library property. There will be no boxing horsing around, or playing on the lawn or in the parking lot.
- Wyandanch Public Library is not responsible for lost or stolen property. Bikes left unattended are the responsibility of the owner. Use the bike rack to lock bikes.
- No weapon of any kind is allowed in the Wyandanch Public Library. Possession of a weapon is grounds for removal or police intervention.
- During regular school hours, children from K-12 are not permitted in the library unless accompanied by a responsible adult. Class trips will be the exception.
- Young children grades K – 6 utilize the Children's Room for reading, study, and computer use.
- Any child asked to leave the library twice will not be readmitted without a parent or guardian.
- Any adult asked to leave the library twice will have their library card revoked.
- Any misconduct involving verbal abuse (i.e.: yelling, screaming, cursing, loud talking, etc.) is grounds for removal. Throwing books, articles of clothing or any other objects is grounds for removal.
- Failure to follow directions of Security Personnel is grounds for removal.
- Personal CD Rom games and other electronic equipment are not permitted.
- Gym equipment, football helmets, sports equipments, etc., are not allowed in the library. No card playing is permitted in the library.
- All persons who enter the Wyandanch Public Library must behave responsibly and are accountable for their actions.
- No cellular phone use will be acceptable in the library.
